Ludhiana, June 3
Ireo Waterfront Private Limited, a Delhi-Gurgaon-based developer with a mega housing project, Ireo Waterfront, on Sidhwan Canal Road here, has more trouble due to unfair business practices and fraudulent property buyers.
After bank accounts were seized and orders to auction off part of his land for non-reimbursement of money to two property buyers earlier, the National Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission (NCDRC) issued a warrant for the seizure of another piece of land of approximately 21 acres located in Dakha village in the district.
Seizure orders for land belonging to Ireo Waterfront were issued by commission on May 25, 2022, following a complaint filed by a property buyer, Sudha Dhir (Consumer Complaint No 682 of 2017).
At the last hearing on May 25, the commission noted that the respondent (Ireo Waterfront) failed to reimburse an amount of Rs 3,73,14,375 plus simple interest to the aggrieved consumer within four weeks as per orders passed on September 16. 2021.
In its previous orders in favor of the plaintiff, the commission had ruled: “That the warrant of seizure be issued for July 7, 2022. It must be issued in relation to the property whose value is sufficient for the recovery of the decretal. amount. The learned lawyer of the DH (holder of the decree) is requested to
provide details of the company’s movable and immovable assets within four weeks and thereafter a writ of seizure will be issued. »
The Land Seizure Warrant has been sent to the Deputy Commissioner’s office here for compliance before the next court date on July 7, 2022.
